Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
It is with profound sorrow that we, the clergy and faithful of the Catholic Orthodox Apostolic Church and the Apostolic Orthodox Church in America, extend our heartfelt condolences to our sister Church in Ukraine on the recent repose of Archbishop Stefan (Negrebetsky). His unwavering dedication to the Orthodox faith and the Ukrainian nation has left an indelible mark on all who were blessed to know him.
Throughout his ecclesiastical ministry, Archbishop Stefan exemplified the virtues of wisdom, humility, and steadfastness. His leadership during pivotal moments in Ukraine's history, including his role as the coordinator of the Spiritual Council of Maidan, showcased his deep love for his people and his unwavering commitment to justice and truth. His philosophical insights and actions were not merely theoretical but were deeply rooted in practical applications that benefited the broader community.
As we reflect on his 83 years of life, we are reminded of the profound impact one dedicated individual can have on the spiritual and cultural fabric of a nation. Archbishop Stefan's legacy is a testament to the power of faith in action, and his memory will undoubtedly continue to inspire future generations.
May our Lord Jesus Christ grant rest to His faithful servant in the abode of the righteous, where there is neither pain nor sorrow, but life everlasting. We pray that the Lord will open the heavens to him, granting him the joy of beholding His divine glory. Eternal memory to him!
With heartfelt sympathy and prayers,
Metropolitan +MARK
